30 Hudson Yards Now 15 Stories Above Street Level, Retail Component Getting Façade
[IMG][/IMG]
The 90-story, 1,296-foot-tall office tower known as 30 Hudson Yards, located on the corner of Tenth Avenue and West 33rd Street, is now roughly 15 floors above street level, as seen in photos posted to the YIMBY Forums by ILNY. The one-million-square-foot retail component, dubbed The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards and located between 30 Hudson Yards and the completed 52-story office tower 10 Hudson Yards, is also now topped out and receiving its façade. 30 Hudson Yards will measure 2.6-million square feet and has already been fully committed. Time Warner Inc. (and its affiliates) will occupy 1.5-million square feet, Wells Fargo Securities will occupy 500,000 square feet, KKR will occupy 343,000 square feet, and Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group (the developer of Hudson Yards) are also taking space in the building.[IMG][/IMG]
The tower will also boast a 1,100-foot-height outdoor observation deck and will connect to the shopping component, which will host roughly 100 retailers and restaurants. It will be anchored by Neiman Marcus and is expected to open in 2018. 30 Hudson Yards is due in 2019. Kohn Pedersen Fox is behind the design.

Sorry, but the last picture there doesn't cut it for me- The building looks out of proportion with the Coach tower in terms of width, it looks crooked, the crown looks cheapened, and the base almost looks like it will have some gold (or different colored) cladding. I hope the building will turn out better than that rendering.

That's not the Coach tower, that would be on the right, out of the picture. Gotta be one of the Manhattan West towers that's behind it.

Maybe it seems like that to you because it's the taller building, but if you actually look at the brick buildings near this one you'll easily realize how massive this building is going to be. About the golden shine, it must be caused by the sunset. I don't think they'll be using golden cladding for the lower portion. All the materials should be the same, I can even spot a pillar which should be clad in the same grey stone we saw at 10 Hudson Yards (I suppose).

Can't wait to visit the observation deck at 30 HY. The view of midtown central should be amazing.

Although it's very thin, as far as I can tell, that looks like usable floor space. Is that right?

If so, it's probably not going to have a ton of utility as office space, but the areas inside are going to have some pretty killer views down 10th Ave towards downtown, especially in the uppermost (20ish by my count) floors, where the bulk of the tower is sloped away to the West. If there's room, it would certainly bring a whole new meaning to the term "corner office" ... although realistically there might only be room for like, a couple lounge chairs and a ficus.
