That is a lot for a tower that doesn't yet has the grand name as 30Rock ESB or WTC.

Oh I have no idea, just a little bit of rhetorical speculation. Main deck of the ESB is $32 and top deck is $52, so I ballparked it somewhere in between. I hope it's not that much, but it wouldn't surprise me either. I just hope I can go up to the bar without having to pay an observation deck cover charge.

Amazing. This will be a tourist magnet for sure.
Looks like it was designed by Escher.

This is a worry of mine. If they ticket and police this thing to death it will ruin any chance of it being used by actual New Yorkers, and the plaza will turn into a congested holding space for tourists. But if they keep it free and open, I can see the sculpture living up to its full potential of being an interactive gathering space for everyone and not another tourist trap. They better not plaster ads everywhere like in the Oculus, either.

I don't think the ticket to the observation deck will cost more than ESB's, since it will have other, paid, amenities there, such as restaurants that would bring more revenue, thus making it possible to lower the general admition price.

As for the vessel, more of Eiffel Tower, the artist seemed more inspired by a Escher drawing or an Indian stepwell (It seems he said that indeed he was inspired on those stepwells)

WOW great pic updates above. I really like pictures where you can see people in it compared to the building. Really gives you this grand scale.

The sculpture also reminds me a little of a Praying Mantis egg sack after the eggs have hatched.

It's already over 400 feet and it doen't even look like a tower yet!

This is a building with emotions. You can read a lot of meanings to the design and still have the feeling of a success on how much the area has changed over the years as the construction works progress.

Are there still plans for that high balcony on the tallest tower? How have things changed since the render on page 1 of the thread?

The outdoor observation deck is still a go.
