Amazing progress. I love the rows of light from 432 Park Avenue.

Which one is 432 Park Ave?

Also, what is that really tall slender one on the left?

And that one with what looks like a blue-purple crown immediately below it?

The slender tower on the left is 432 Park Avenue, I love the rows of lights from that building, but I don't know the name of the building with blue lighted crown.

Thank you very much.

I don't suppose you know what the hazy grey one above-right of the big W and left of 432 Park Ave is?

Unless I'm badly disoriented, that should be one of the "X, Y, Z" buildings -- a cluster of towers that were added to Rockefeller Center in the 1960s. The largest one, just above the W Hotel in that photo, should be 1251 Ave of the Americas and the one just to the South of it, with the satellite dishes, should be 1221 Ave of the Americas.

^You guys got it right- the one with the finned blue crown is Astor Plaza aka 1515 Broadway, and two of the XYZ buildings. All of these got slammed by the architecture critics, but I love them I've got a LOT of pictures, you can see some here in my latest flickr gallery:

Wow, Culture Tower, er, Morph is flying up. Manhattan Tower itself looks almost half of Coach Tower's height already.

Well, that very much makes sense... above the "W" should be X-Y-Z...

Just a curiosity question, can someone explain please why on this tower I can't see the core, as usually we are used to seeing? Is it a different type of construction?
Thank you.

It doesn't have a (concrete) core because it is built over railroad tracks so there's no room.

I'm not an expert, so take this as one possible explanation only. I think the building has an external supporting structure, not sure how the structural engineers call that. The diagonal beams which we can see on the tower give the support that's needed (I suppose), maybe that's the reason why we can't spot a concrete core rising.

I raised a similar question on page 254 and received several great answers around the lack of a concrete core. Go back there and enjoy
