Sadly in my photos most of 30 HY is hidden by 10 HY from the angle I took them at but I figured I should post them anyway. This tower is already pretty tall and growing more slender the more it rises. I can't wait to see the impact this will have on the skyline, considering the more than 300 foot (100 meter) shorter 10 HY is already dominating the West Part of the skyline.

[QUOTE=ILNY;137408969]

ILNY, I was there later in the day today. By then the sky was totally clear. No need to post any pictures, they would not be able to compete with yours in any way :-)

As others stated, this tower is just enormous when you see it in person!

Does anyone know what is planned in the area with the semi-trailers between the Javits Center and the rail yard? I'd love to see something ambitious built at the terminus of the High Line.

As of now, nothing. But if 50 and 55 are anything to go by, we might see 1-2 developments straddling the high line.

Although, personally, I'd like to see some kind of 'overflow' for the Javits - a plaza of some sort. Though, the Javits may not be long for that location, anyways ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know people have said that about New York for a hundred years, but in a decade it's going to look more like a man-made mountain range than a city.

In half a decade New York viewed from Central Park will appear a lot like Coruscant, and yep people also said that before (including me).
Edit: By the way I really love the photo at the top of this page, post #5561, it's amazing how 10 HY got so much space filled in such short time, hopefully the same will happen with its taller sister.

Coruscant doesn't just have tall buildings but also very bulky buildings. It is however not completely impossible to have that as well, because if you think about it, the Galactic Senate for example is basically a cantilever from hell, its base isn't actually that big, and it stretches way out above the area below it.

I think they should deck over Javits Center from 37th Street to 41st Street and put the new Madison Square Garden on top of that deck ...
