This whole complex is awe inspiring. Really wish I could see it under construction IRL. Last time I was in NYC I was able to witness 1WTC in its early stages when the glass was first being installed.

Considering there's a Phase II eventually there's a chance for all of us to see it U/C in person at one point.

My second favorite NYC supertall after Steinway. A building this bulky could easily have turned out brutish, but there is a sculptural quality here, especially in combination with 10 Hudson Yards. Purely from an aesthetic stand point, I think these two buildings would have looked better without the other Hudson Yard towers crowding around them.

( 1 Hudson Yards ) Looks out of place, it should've been a fully glass tower also

I feel the same as you do. In NYC you are just like "Oh well, another cluster in the making". I wish we weren´t that spoiled with NYC as we are.

Yep! Manhattan is truly in a level of its own in terms of development in the US. Though I do worry that it's getting too "sterile" there. Last time I was in NY from LA walking around lower Manhattan almost felt like walking onto a movie set, as opposed to well a real place. Instead of a vibrant metropolis it felt like a theme park where filthy rich people were "playing city". Hope there's still pockets of NY the wealthy haven't co-opted.

(Anyways sorry to go off topic!)

No skyline here in Northern Germany can even compete with Fort Lee.

Looking real good!! What floor do you think it's at now? And how much longer to go? Once both are lit up at night, it'll probably be my favorite part of NY! There's still phase II to go as well!!!

I haven’t even thought of how HY would light up at night. I can’t seem to find any nighttime renderings. That’s one of my favorite things about new skyscrapers. It can change a lot about a building. I wasn’t a fan of 432 Park at all until I saw it at night. One Vanderbilt should be another good one going by those renderings.

Parts of Lower Manhattan are very Sex and the City like and I know exactly what you mean. However don’t forget about the rest of NY: Upper Manhattan and the other 4 boroughs which are each much larger in size than Manhattan. I will admit that some parts of my native Brooklyn are becoming like this. Hudson Yards will undeniably be another playground area for the rich but it’s better than what was there before which was nothing.

Here’s hoping someone has some nighttime renders! Also, it’s been a while since anyone has captured this building from a particular angle on ground level! I’d have to look at older pages to find it but it used to be on the street in front of where the “point” is being build that rises about 20 stories up! There used to be a small building maybe 3-6 stories fall next to it but it’s since been demolished and I miss seeing photos from that angle! I may be in NY for the holidays, so I’ll be sure to stop by here if I do!

Good news! there's a nighttime rendering. It's subtle but there is floodlight illumination on the top portion of the facade like on 10 Hudson Yards.

I think those lit triangles are a good idea and a nice add to Manhattan night skyline, iconic even. +They are on both sides.
