from the north, this tower has a presence that probably only the WTC surpasses. 432 Park is tall, but skinny. This tower has girth.

Yep! Not that skyline aesthetics are all that important, but in the photo posted above your comment MAN does 432 Park stick out like a sore thumb. Will sure be nice when all those Billionaire's Row Supertalls under construction join it

Futuristic - yes, I agree.

Classy - hmmm, a bit questionable.

I agree, H-Yards is my favorite development in New York or in the west (overall), mostly because it provides quality places where people can work. When you add the Vessel to all of that, it only becomes better. The best place for a new megatall in NY.

That's what she said.

Sorry, someone had to do it.

Anyway, while I'm not a yuge fan of 432 I think it definitely has a strong presence. It's skinny, but it's thick enough to be clearly visible. And soon CPT and Steinway will make their marks too.

This doesn't fit in NY, especially it diminish the hardcore feel of the west side

I think it fits in, especially if the develop more in the are. Without this it will look to desolate. This brings more life to the area.

I think it stands out... kinda like if Shanghai were plopped into midtown Manhattan. On the other hand it's good that all these monolithic glass buildings are clumped together because that leaves the rest of Manhattan unfettered with all the glass. That also allows it to say, "Look at me! I was plopped down here all at the same time without regard to my surroundings!"

p.s. - I love the egg.

You can see the swooping time-exposed lights of a helicopter.
