The timeline for Phase II seems pretty fungible, but Ross has said he expects to start the North Office Tower here basically in 6 months or so, and the mixed use and residential building at the same time.

Related to Start Second Hudson Yards Portion by Mid-2013
By David M. Levitt on September 12, 2012

"... Ross is confident that he will have enough lease commitments to begin the next section in mid-2013, he said today in an interview. Related is “far along with several tenants that really want to be there,” he said separately on Bloomberg Television’s “Market Makers” with Stephanie Ruhle and Erik Schatzker...

...Ross isn’t worried about financing the project, he said in the interview.

The portion of the project to start next year will include a second office tower and a 750,000-square-foot retail complex, along with a hotel and some residential units, he said. Both eastern sections should be completed by 2017, according to Ross..."

im sure they may begin the work, but im not feeling the durations, especially with the team they have running the project.

forgive my language, but perini has done little else besides eat their balls on projects in new york since they have gotten here.

take the tower at the corner near the south tower as an example.

2. Phase I is the Eastern Yards with what's been shown in the renderings over the past few pages, Phase II is the Western Yards and at this point the buildings are all placeholders and is probably a couple years from construction. All being developed by Related.

Yeah, the Western yards won't be as exciting IMO as the first stage. Just one tall tower that will probably be around 800 feet or so. From the plan it looks like it will be one FAT tower too.

Possibly. To me the ~800-1,000 foot towers' final designs will make the difference. I'm not a huge fan of Coach Tower.

I walked by on 27 Dec 2012, and noticed that scores of buildings between 10th and 11th Avenues from 33rd to 36th Streets have been razed in connection with the construction of Hudson Boulevard.

They did. These photos are from December 10-12th 2012 mind you, but prep work has started.

December 10th. The crane you see in these isn't for the this development but for a 35 story residential building.

Yup. Tenant move in is set for sometime in 2015 so they're gonna have to really haul.

Wow, another 400m+ tower for New York. Took me some time to go through this thread, but those amazing renders were definitely worth it.

I guess once the smaller tower starts construction it wouldn't be a bad idea to separate the thread so people can focus on a single project.

Isn't it easier to have twin towers (well, you know what I mean ) in one thread. Just like Pingan IFC in Shenzhen, so you can see both towers in one picture, and nobody has to post his pics in different threads.

But won't the construction of the North Tower start far later then construction of the Coach Tower? I mean, there are a thousand scenarios for when this could be and SSP which lists the Coach Tower as u/c isn't helping it

Not really. RELATED supposedly is close to signing tenants for the North Tower, and it's scheduled for compltion 2 years after Coach. Obviously, the North Tower can start before the whole eastern platform is complete.
