Seen it on the world forums. This would never get planning permission in the UK...

Oh my god, that's awful. It completely destroys the character of one of the world's great stadiums and turns it into some kind of giant gimmick.

I wouldn't say the Nou Camp has much character at the moment.

It is a crumbling concrete wreck. Have you been?

Looks great on TV, the reality is that it is a dump. Same with the San Siro.

Hence, the redevelopment, the bigwigs of Barca, know they are loosing £m compared with Utd/Bayern etc in catering and `prestige'.

The plans look great.
The colours are a true reflection of the great buildings of Barcelona and a very fair representation of the city.

Wembley is a great let down compared with this, truly fearsome looking stadium. Shit, 106,000 on a mid-week match in Europe, yikes!

I went for a Saturday night game about this time last year, and went back again for the behind-the-scenes tour. Yes, it's showing its age, but more in the sense of grand old edifice rather than crumbling relic.

Part Modernisme mosaic, part Torre Agbar. Perfect for Barcelona.

Like the way they've managed to squeeze two Foster buildings in that shot...

No i've only seen it from the outside. Yes I realise it's seen much better years and is in desperate need of an overhaul..........but this doesn't equate to lacking character - quite the opposite surely? Would you say Wembley has more character than the Camp Nou?

He can, just that that our planning authorities and clients dont do colour because they are in general a bunch of boring old farts.

Love the colour, nice and vibrant - passionate.

Is it me or is that the Wembley arch I can see in the roof of that?

Oh yeah! Hadn't noticed that.

I am liking this more and more. First glance looked a little garish, but I think it is nice to see stadia design becoming bold and adventurous in colour other than just structure.
If I have one gripe it is that it looks a bit too much Champs lge advert/intro..

I would like too see how much this stadium is costing compared to the Olympic stadium for the 2012 games? I think a comparison would be good to see if we really are getting value for money from a tempory building? then again I think spain imports cheap labor for its major building projects.

yeh but you would have to compare it with another temporary building...this Nou Camp design isn't temporary, is it?
