DENMARK | Projects and Construction

This thread is for all "normal" construction in Denmark. Basicly everything goes here, although a few things should be in other threads:

Anything highrise related shoul be in the: All new Danish highrises Thread

Anything in the Copenhagen area should be in the: Copenhagen construction and development Thread

Anything related to the big Ørestad development should be in the: The BIG HUGE Copenhagen Ørestad Thread

There are a few other threads relating Danish projects, but these are the 3 big active ones. Anyone are more than welcome to add projects and news, which there are quite a lot of all around the country.

Let me start out with a cool project in Vejle called "Bølgen" (The Wave). It's about to go under construction, if it hasn't happend already. The architect is Henning Larsen Architects (known for the Copenhagen Opera and the Ferring building among other things). Some renderings:

Good thread, there is loads of great projects in Denmark which is not a high-rise building!

Bølgen is a great project, whats the prices on an apartment there?

Really looks brilliant. I was in Vejle a couple of days ago, it's really getting much better. Though the traffic is horrible at times :P

/\ There's a link to it's website in the first post (where it says "Bølgen"), there you can see the prices. But they range from around 3 million dkr for the smallest, to around 10 for the top ones, if I remember correctly.

MLM - the new thread is a very good initiative

"Bølgen" will be a fantastic landmark for Vejle. Henning Larsen Architecs has made a uniqe project, and it will contribute to a new identity for Vejle a long with the other projects in the city. In 2012 the trip across the brigde will be even more beautiful than today.

Is this Bølgen going to replace the envisioned VEJLE towers? You know, the ones that said "VEJLE". Or are these two different projects?

If I remember correctly "VEJLE towers" where BIGs proposal for the area, but it lost to Henning Larsen Architects "Bølgen". Both projects where outstanding.

Great thread mlm! That wave thing looks great. Could be taller though.

To show something different, here's the new royal theatre in Copenhagen:

The new theatre will open february '08. I have kind of mixed feelings for this building - but I'm mostly positive. It's certainly much nicer than the opera house on the opposite side of the harbour. They are also talking about connecting the two with a pedestrian bridge.

About this thread: Do you think we should have some CPH projects here too? I don't want to take away activity from the CPH threads, and actually figured this one should be for "the rest of DK". Anyway, I don't mind if a few one pops up here.

Hernning Larsen Architects has won the competition for the City Hall for the municipality of Viborg. The city hall will be 20.000 sqm, have six floors and will be located at the former military barracks area.
