Boise Development News

If anybody is curious, here is a list of current Downtown Boise developments/proposals.
Boizean, a local forumer over at SSP put this list excellent list together. Kudos to Boizean

Here is the link to his complete post with pictures and weblinks. http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=92318

You have some really nice projects going planned for Boise with the exception of Capitol Plaza. Besides being one of the ugliest buildings I have seen recently, their claim on their website that the building will be built in the Northwest's "most vibrant city" is just ridiculous. Seattle has a daily workforce of 300,000 people downtown, 30,000 residents with 20,000 more planned and is mobbed with tourists. I'm not knocking Boise, but come on. I am glad to hear you are getting a Whole Foods though. Whole Foods kicks ass!

yep! Now add 1 more 400+ footer, a 500+ footer and finally, a 600+ footer, and Boise will be even more known world-wide!

Yeah, thats quite a stretch. DT Boise can really only be compared to SLC and Spokane - and Boise wins hands down in terms of vibrancy there no question.

You wont have to worry about that project though, its been tabled indefinitely/cancelled in its current form.

Sawtooth you might want to take that news over to SSP where I know there are more Boise posters.

Oops forgot post my update on my trip to Boise. I really loved it! Well, in comparison to Spokane. The people were so nice, you couldn't get lost in town to save your life and DT was very walkable. As a matter of fact I walked it end to end in about 45 minutes.

It also looks like this Boise Tower thingy is dead. I mean really dead. Everyone I talked to about it just laughed and rolled their eyes.

I wasn't curious until I stumbled upon this thread. How about some photo threads of Boise from some of you residents?

Boise River Greenbelt pics.

this thread consists of photos I shot while biking on the greenbelt in the downtown area on the day of rest.
sunday turned out to be a very green day, the vibe was great and so was the weather

this is a little bit of boise as seen from the greenbelt with some grove plaza in downtown included.

Boise River Greenbelt at Capitol Boulevard, Julia Davis Park, 8th Street Bridge

A mellow Capitol Boulevard Bridge

A quick side peddling to Parkcenter Bridge

Ann Morrison Park, south of the river, downtown

Grove Plaza

And, a few evening photos taken in Kathryn Albertson Park.

goslings are everywhere, but I havn't seen any ducklings yet.
