I sometimes forget about this website because SSP seems to be where all of the action is.

Here are some pictures of a section of Greenbelt near BSU and a few of some new retail and eateries in downtown.

And some shots of a few of the new retail locations that have opened recently in downtown and will open soon.

Nice pics.

When the economy gets better, I believe Boise will be well-positioned to add development and residential downtown. The influx from more populated areas, (read WA, CA, AZ), will continue. This, plus the natural growth of eastern Idaho, will again catipult ID into one of the high-growth states in the west.

I love Boise. I am planning another trip there this Summer. I have been in Fall now and Springtime. So now to check out the heat.

Spring fits Boise perfect. The renovated Capitol is looking good.

I just checked in here and will update you soon. SSC seems to be kind of dead, everyone is over at SSP and there is a Boise Projects thread with updates. I will try to get some updates posted here later tonight or possibly tomorrow.

Looks good.

Of course there's precisely zero chance that anyone would borrow someone else's rendering and convert it into a design. That sort of thing just doesn't happen. First, architects don't borrow ideas in that fashion. Second, it wouldn't help them in any way. Third, if the like the idea they can do something similar without permission.

Ok, maybe a crazy developer would decide it was the best thing they'd ever seen, and hire an architect to make it happen. But developers like that tend not to last...the successful ones focus on fundamentals, not emotional tangents.

The rendering looks good, but something curvy like that would be more expensive to build per square foot, without much potential to increase $/sf rates to compensate. Not just curvy, but also the cutaway at the entrance might cost something since the uper design seems to require heavy structure in that corner.

I already know that's generally how it goes, but as an Idahoan, I felt like offering it up anyways. Here seems like as good of a place as any to bring it up. Maybe someday.
