Minogue to star in F1 Rocks concert

KUALA LUMPUR: The F1 Rocks concert franchise is set to add an extra dash of glamour to next month's F1 Malaysian Grand Prix in Kuala Lumpur after sources revealed that two star-packed concerts will be held at KLCC on March 23 and 24.

Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue will headline the first night's event on March 23 alongside a host of yet-to-be-announced supporting acts.

Minogue, 43, will make her concert debut in Kuala Lumpur with this F1 Rocks concert.

The singer, who is known as the Princess of Pop, has come a long way since her girl-next-door image and Top 10 pop hits made her a household name in the late 1980s.

Fans can expect a career-spanning live set from Minogue, who has 11 studio albums and countless contemporary hits like Can't Get You Out Of My Head, Spinning Around, All The Lovers and Slow to her name.

On March 24, American R&B star Kelis, 32, who has five albums and dance-savvy hits like Caught Out There, Milkshake, Trick Me, Lil Star and Acapella, will also roll out a full concert set.

The two-night spectacular, which will be F1 Rocks' debut appearance in Kuala Lumpur, is expected to play out to a 30,000-strong audience.

Full ticket details and line-up of the F1 Rocks concert series in Kuala Lumpur will be announced next week.

The singer is set to take all her Malaysian fans on a ride in her The Black Star Tour Malaysia 2012 at Stadium Merdeka.

The stadium will open its doors at 7pm while the concert will begin at 8.30pm.

PETALING JAYA: Four-time Grammy award winner Olivia Newton-John will be performing live in Malaysia at Genting Highland's Arena of Stars on March 29.

Olivia Newton-John: Live in Concert performance will be the Grease superstar's second concert in Malaysia and is organised by Offshore Entertainment Production Sdn Bhd.

Fans can expect familiar hits such as Hopelessly Devoted to You, You're The One That I Want, I Honestly Love You and Physical from the 64-year-old Australian who was honoured by the Academy of Country Music as the Most Promising Female Vocalist and won a Grammy Award for Best Country Vocalist.

Multilingual Malaysian reality TV star Farhan Azizan, who is known for her repertoire of jazz and Mandarin songs, will be the opening act at the concert.

Tickets for the concert, which starts at 8pm, are priced at RM480, RM368, RM268 and RM168.

A special “early bird” 40% discount will be given for the first 1,000 ticket purchases.

KUCHING: YouTube sensation Greyson Chance will perform in Kuala Lumpur on April 17 as part of his arena tour in Asia.
Greyson became a hit on YouTube after gaining over 45 million views for his performance of Lady Gaga’s ‘Paparazzi’.



MALAYSIAN DEBUT: Camryn is seen with her band members.

The 14-year-old will team up with Camryn Magness for the tour.

Last spring, Camryn, aged 12, performed on every stop of Greyson’s ‘Waiting For You’ concert tour, which also featured Cody Simpson.

Camryn’s debut single ‘Wait and See’ broke into Top 40 radio and its video received heavy airplay on both Nickelodeon and The N last year.

The soundtrack for the movie ‘Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer’ comprised solely of Camryn’s music and she also had a cameo in the movie.
Camryn’s Facebook page has over one million fans.

“I’m really excited to perform in Asia, because so many of my Facebook fans live in the same countries I’ll be visiting,” she said in a press release.

“It will also be great to tour with Greyson again. He is unbelievably talented, kind, and fun to be around.”
