looks great. different. interesting. nod to the past (ie. not a standard bowl, but not messy either). vital to have that region of england represented at a possible 2018 world cup too.

build it. and thanks to those who posted the info.

interesting link. apologies if this has already been asked but, presumably all these images are in 30,000 mode? how do they propose expanding it, additional tiers to those two single-tiered stands?

Yes, the two ends will have a second tier placed on top.

Old news now to City fans, but thought I would keep the thread up to date for everyone else:

http://www.bcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetai...630983,00.html

It is widely understood that 23million shares equate to about £47m.

Yeah there was a link on the previous page, but since the link was to the official home page, it has moved on and the new stadium fly-through is harder to find.

Cheers anyway.

Word has it PP has gone in with slight alteration to either end stand. Roof lowered slightly, roughly seven extra rows of seating added.
Should be able to get our hands on the finer details soon.

Sounds even better with those new additions added. Lowering the roof will help with the atmosphere, plus, adding the extra rows will break up the lower bowl design. Seems to me like the chairman/design team have been reading the City forum.

This is an unofficial drawing that was done by a City fan.

Fair play if the club & designers are actually listening to suggestions from fans. First time for everything i suppose.

The Supporters' Trust made it known to the club that there was huge disapproval of the home end design in general when the first images were released, mainly from the current 'EasEnders'. The club listened in part, and have altered the design, but not to the degree which fans wanted, which would be much more enclosed and unique compared with the rest of the stadium.
There was a follow-up campaign by Ziderheads/3 Lions to further rectify the design (extra 14 rows of seating with a much lowered roof more resembling the current Eastend one and a rear partition to segregate it from the concourse which encircles the lower bowl of seating) to improve acoustics/atmosphere in that area to reflect the current Forza EE movement at Ashton Gate, which has seen a much improved matchday atmosphere/experience in recent years since the petition to re-open the EE to the home fans.
Images were created to illustrate their ideas, and these were all shown to the club and lead Architect. It seems the club have met the fans halfway, which is more than some clubs have done, but not enough for some. As soon as the PP details are made public we will have a better idea.
I'm sure you are aware of all this anyway RMB..

I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the information. You'll never be able to please everyone, so, IF the club have changed even part of the original design, then I think the supporters should feel pleased that the club have taken on board their concerns and done something about it.

I really like the design with or without the changes. I think sometimes it's a good idea to be grateful for what the chairman/designers have proposed. Especially when you consider that the chairman could have easily proposed something like Southampton's ground.

Tesco plans were released this weekend for Ashton Gate if they bought the site after City moves out.

Nothing amazing about the plans really - to get an idea of what it'll look like go and visit pretty much any Tesco already built in the country.

The planning app for the stadium is now starting to appear on the Bristol City Council website now.

http://e2eweb.bristol.gov.uk/PublicA...=KLC6B4DN08900

Not too many details up yet (no associated documents have been scanned yet) - although the 'target determination date' has been set as 1st Oct so at least we can see when they're aiming for this to be decided.

Still, probably good to keep an eye on this cos this is where everything will be available eventually.
