NASHVILLE | The Pinnacle | 417ft | 29 fl | T/O

The Pinnacle, Nashville TN USA

A spectacular office tower is on the rise in the heart of Nashville's thriving SoBro District. Located directly across from the new Schermerhorn Symphony Center, The Pinnacle at Symphony Place will become the future home of Bass Berry & Sims, Nashville's most prestigious law firm, and Pinnacle Financial Partners. It will also be the first new downtown building to gain LEED Silver Certification - a national standard measuring a building's environmental friendliness.

Featuring 29 stories and 520,000 square feet of world-class office and retail space, The Pinnacle is destined to become a bold new Nashville landmark.

The Pinnacle at Symphony Place
Nashville, Tennessee
1,070,000 gsf
Client: Barry Real Estate Companies
Architect of Record: Everton Oglesby Architects
Status: Design Development

Located adjacent to the historic Schermerhorn Symphony Center and Shelby Street Bridge, the Pinnacle at Symphony Place will be a new Nashville landmark, anchoring the heart of the south of Broadway District. The mixed-use twenty-nine story tower features twenty-three floors of office space atop a six-story podium comprising retail, restaurants and a ten level, 950 space parking garage. Named for Pinnacle Financial Partners, a major tenant occupying 65,000 square feet, the tower will also serve as the new headquarters for the law firm of Bass, Berry & Sims, who will occupy nearly 220,000 square feet.

The tower’s exterior form takes its inspiration from the timeless design of classic skyscrapers. The curtain wall is composed of continuous vertical mullion bands, floor-to-ceiling glazing and protruding accent fins to emphasize the building’s slender appearance. The facades are articulated with vertical recessed indentations that are lit at night to accentuate the tower’s verticality. Illuminated upper story setbacks further contribute to the tower’s glowing presence at night. At the tower’s top, a backlit screen wall conceals equipment while defining the tower’s distinctive presence in the Nashville skyline.

At the street level, double-height retail and restaurants encourage pedestrian activity and reinforce the intimate scale of the neighborhood. Tower entrances of highly articulated stone, metal, and glass convey their durability while acknowledging the adjacent Symphony Center. Upper parking podium levels are concealed by a similar stone and glass curtain wall and are serviced by two vehicle entrances and three passenger elevators to the tower’s lobby.

As a Nashville’s first LEED-CS Silver certified building, the Pinnacle incorporates numerous sustainable design features such as low-E glass and a “green” roof landscaped with native plants to absorb heat and rain water and to provide a pleasing verdant roofscape for tower occupants.

With one big difference and that is that this one is fat and small. For the rest it is fine though.

Looking at the design, this one really should be twice as high.
