Good shout Paul.

Also remember if you miss it, it will be available on Channel 4 +1 at 10pm, that's on Freeview 13, Sky 135, and Virgin 143.

Failing that, it will be available on 4oD to stream or download after the show.

Not quite Liverpool, but close enough. Next Monday's episode of 'Go North West' will include a walk along Crosby Beach. Might be of some interest.

Go North West
8pm Monday 26th May
ITV1 Granada

Fire Detectives

Monday 26th May
7:30pm BBC1

Series following the work of the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Brigade's investigation team. The team meet a mother who broke both legs trying to save herself and her four-year-old son from a blaze at their home, we find out what the fire detectives consider the most dangerous kitchen accessory, and the team investigate a fire at an elderly woman's home.

Wednesday 28th May
7:30pm BBC1

Series following the work of the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Brigade investigation team. The fire detectives face the challenges of the run-up to Bonfire Night, find forensic evidence that points towards a link between a house fire and a burned-out car, and investigate an arson attack where the occupant loses his only photos of his late mother.

Friday 30th May
7:30pm BBC1

Series following the work of the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Brigade fire investigation team. As the build-up to Bonfire Night intensifies, the fire detectives investigate an attack on a family home. A firework attack on a firefighter is caught on camera and a body is discovered on a bonfire in Birkenhead. Then, just days afterwards, the fire brigade tackle their biggest blaze of the year.

Descriptions from www.radiotimes.com

This is being broadcast to all BBC1 regions, not just the North West. From the descriptions, it looks like it's going to be a mixed bag in terms of the impression it gives of the city to outsiders (remembering to many outsiders Merseyside = Liverpool).

The Culture show, 10pm on Tuesday has a piece on Klimt. Surely there will be reference to the Tate Exhibition.

Apologies for the very short notice, but Liverpool and Alexei Sayle are just about to be featured on The One Show, starting now on BBC1. It'll likely be on the BBC iPlayer later.

Not a bad feature. Alexei Sayle didn't really say anything that hasn't been published in recent days. There was also a nice feature on the Williamson Tunnels that was quite interesting.

I can't wait to record Alexei. I wonder if he'll be giving it any of this?

I always preferred...

Or the one where he said "Funny how many biscuits are named after revolutionaries. You've got your Bourbon, your Garibaldi, and your Peak Frean Trotsky Assortment."

From RadioTimes.com -

Quote:
No Limits Season:Redgrave's Raw Recruits

Five-times Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave faces possibly his biggest challenge yet - turning a squad of youngsters from inner-city Liverpool into top class rowers. The sporting legend has just seven months to teach these raw recruits how to row well enough to qualify for Britain's most prestigious rowing event, Henley Royal Regatta. But for Sir Steve, the mission is about more than learning to row - if he can inspire the lads to right level of teamwork and commitment, he could transform their lives forever.

I've just received next week's copy of the Radio Times, and noticed it as I was looking through it. I checked the online version of the Radio Times, which can obviously be kept up to date with any late changes, and it's listed there too.

It was scrapped for mainstream airing when the end result was seen as not making the series viable.

That makes sense as the Radio Times does suggest it is something of a 'slow burner'. Oh well, I'll probably take a look at it anyway.

Thanks, does that mean that this is a 'watered-down' version.

Even this joke - his career peak? - didn't even make sense. The Bourbons were the royal family of France.
