I don't know why ya'll worrying about, there has not been any official confirmation about the change of the design, at least I haven't heard of one.

I passed by there this week but there was no point to take pictures - zero progress, it seems the construction has stopped once again.

Thats because Gorbachev destroyed the government. Look at China, it will have the world's largest economy before 2016. Communism does not mean a gov controled economy, can be market, but it would be better having the unity of the USSR, and the market economy for a better country, now latvia is poor, cant do anything, and projects like this take forever to get built with their super fast "U/C, On-Hold, U/C, On-Hold, Cancelled" style of building. It is just annoying how they build like that. I say Just start it and finish it!

Politics goes in with the construction of the Z-Towers. If there is curruption, then projects get put on-hold or somthing. You get it, you just need to think about it.

Well this thread is really not the right place for political discussion. You can always open a thread in Skybar with a topic "What is better: socialism or capitalism?" or smth like that

China is a crap hole, just like every communist country. Maybe their economy is growing because Americans are building factories there, but human rights, pollution in China are so bad nobody wants to live there. The government there is basically like KGB-NKVD-Čeka we had here some decades ago. People are treated like slaves and your business can be destroyed overnight if the communist party decides it does not like you. Who wants to live in a terrible place like that?

And North Korea is a prison for 20 million people. Nothing more.

And that says someone who probably has never visited China in his life.
China is definitely not a communist country for many years...probably never was really communist.
Its becoming a modern country with loads of opportunities...you're strongly exaggerating, even to extent it becomes ridiculous .
I for once didn't see any slaves there .

I cant tell you much about poorer regions of the country, there are crap holes but so is in most of the nations. Just need to understand its a nation of 1,35 billion, there always will be large heavy polluted areas and other problems.
