And now it has been given the green light by the city council; http://www.berlingske.dk/article/200...ark/804230402/

Quite funny that happened just today as we were talking about it

Looking forward to see the construction begin!

YES! This might just turn out to be an excellent day for Danish (or even N&B) high rise lovers (aka SSC members )

Hopefully our Stockholm politicians will be inspired by this building and approve Scandic Hotel Kista etc.

Well if the TT didn't do it, why would this?

Congratulations Denmark. This design is magnificient, the wavy elements go well with the ocean in front, and its very tasteful and stylisticly pure. Or should i say; sophisticated. Thats the impression i get.

Sufficient to add, id be very pleased if this was built in Göteborg .

Oh I am so jealous, I am so bloody jealous!!!
I absolutely love this project, and it will make Turning Torso in Malmö look so dated! It's freaking ... unfair!

Someone wrote earlier that it might inspire Stockholm to build higher, but surley if Malmö couldn't inspire Stockholm how could Århus do that?
Most people in Stockholm probably even don't know where Århus is, they probably think it's Åhus in Scania
But when built they will know where Århus is! Mark my word!

And finally did Torning torso when it was newly built and you could see it across the water inspire talk about building high in Copenhagen?

Your point is taken but on a serious note I dont know if it will make turning torso look dated. I think its the best twisting tower there is amongst all the new ones which have followed in its tracks. Both the design, location etc. I do think they will complement each other as far as Scandinavian design goes though.

I dont think it will inspire people as much to build high as it will to incorporate these sleak and clean elements into their city. Its so harmonicly clean and quiet somehow, awe-inspiring .

I'm from Malmö so I might be considered partial here. But seriously... there's hardly any building in the entire world that would make TT look dated, and definately not the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is a really cool project, and I would love to see it being erected in Malmö for sure! But it doesn't compete in the same league as TT. To illustrate my point, I'm having a hard time seeing it winning any awards at MIPIM or seeing any documentaries on Discovery Channel about it.
