^ What if the skyscraper[s] were demolished because they were (structurally) unsafe?

Another of Europe's first modernist skyscrapers is about to be killed.
Tour Aurore, La Defense, Paris

Even the lettering has 1960s character.

On of the few highrises of that era I really like - please don't Paris!

What's going to replace it btw?

The planned Air2 Tower.

Also, I always thought Intraco 1 had relatively short floor-to-ceiling heights for an office building. Didn't know there were plans to tear Intraco 1 down, but if they really did, it would be interesting to see what replaces that.

That's a good idea for a thread. I think I'm gonna make a thread for these buildings so that we can compare what was demolished just for the sake of a new building and what was demolished because of safety concerns

Not fully demolished, but it might as well have been.

A building in San Francisco with a nice, stone clad filled with character is being deformed to a generic glass condo.

From bold...

...to bleh.

Are there any confirmations on those demolitions on Catalinas Norte in Buenos Aires?

It's sad that the golden skyscraper in Buenos Aires might be demolished. It stands out from the rest.

A skyscraper in Hong Kong to fall to the excavators: Sunning Plaza, designed by I.M. Pei and Partners (along with an adjacent residential building named Sunning Court). Height: 113 m (373 ft). Floors: 28. Opening: 1982. On its site will be a larger office and retail building.
