Its not just a church though. That is the LDS Temple in NYC. LDS have churches and temples. In this one case, the building is multi-functional. Almost every Mormon Temple has a gold plated 10 foot tall statue of the Angel Moroni blowing a horn on top (pointing East). The LDS Temple in St. George, Utah is the only exception I'm aware of. It has a white cross instead, but Mormons do not normally use the cross as a religious symbol. They believe the cross is a symbol that focuses too much on the act of Jesus' death instead of being a symbol that focuses on what Jesus did with his life (something I agree with), and thus they do not adorn their buildings with crosses.

Mormons meet in regular church buildings on Sundays, and do "spiritual/sacred/divine" work in their temples on all days of the week. But only an LDS Bishop's recommend gets you access to the interior of an LDS Temple (the Bishop position is similar to a Catholic Priest or Baptist Minister).

If you're interested read here: http://www.ldschurchtemples.com/manhattan/

And since you posted one LDS Temple, I'll post the LDS Temple in my town of Rexburg Idaho (nearly complete).

In the northeastern states, Mormons aren't that common, which is why there aren't a lot of LDS churches and temples around here.

There's a huge Mormon following in Folsom where I live. This temple looms over the freeway when you enter town (it's on a hill):

We can't leave out the Chicago Temple. One of my favorite skyscrapers in the loop. Once the tallest building in the city. There are several sanctuaries in the building including the sky chapel located over 400 feet above the ground.

The first one isn't a "Polish" church, it's Holy Name Cathedral, the main church of the Chicago Archdiocese. St. John Cantius is amazing, one of my favorites in Chicago.

Another one of my favorites is Madonna della Strada at Loyola University. Located right on Lake Michigan, and recently renovated:
