I passed by today, but I didn't have my camera with me. The glass is a bit more than half way up on the "open" side. The blank wall still has nothing on it.

Then don't look at this thread anymore!

In fact, I don't see the purpose of your post - if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything because some of us find your post insulting!

Yeah, this building will be a let down if that wall is left without some cladding. I hate it how they promote it with it's nice glassy side but they don't bother showing the concrete bland wall on their advertisments. Thing is, they know it's not attractive but they'll most likely leave it that way anyway...

I don't believe a structure like this would have been approved if a whole side of it was going to be left with concrete on show, they are probably focusing on enclosing the rest of the structure with the cladding first, then they'll start on the exposed side once the rest is done.

They are actually going to paint the blank side. I'm not sure if that'll help any but thats the word on the Wired NY thread.

Just paint it? Jeeeez, that's a bit crap, I hope it's not true, the rest of this building is quite cool.

Yes, I suppose you are right. Only nice things must be said.
BTW, did you grow up in the Soviet Union? Or was it China or Iran?

I hate this "don't post if you have nothing nice to say" bullshit. Are you some sort of prude? How about arguing against his opinion rather than telling him to leave altogether? Everyone's entitled to an opinion, and if you find a 'negative' post about a BUILDING to be insulting then you are an idiot. You're not the architect/structural engineer/developer/realtor/potential tenant, so why get offended?

I saw this coming. We've already got buildings being built with bland concrete walls, usually they're covered by advertisements.

It'd be cool if these blank areas could be covered by paintings. It worked well for a building on Houston and Broadway.

Grow up. This forum is for mature individuals who have their opinions about architecture and state them openly. If you cannot handle it, find a different forum.

Thank you.
