Depends which terminal you use: Terminal 1 is an engineers dream, multi-level concrete structure with tunnels and overhead walkways going everywhere; Terminal 2A was a complete mess, lack of space (departures and arrivals all on one level), lack of facilities, lack of shopping, lack of food outlets, I can go on; Terminal 2E (Air France terminal) was really nice, wide and open, architecturally beautiful, lots of great shopping, more food choices, etc.

Night and day is what I would use to describe the terminals of CDG.

Some (old) news : at CDG, the 2A-2C connecting building opened last spring. This new building provides 3,400 m² dedicated to passenger control operations on the ground level, a vast retail and service area on the 1st level, and airline lounges on the top level.

A press kit (in french) can be downloaded here.

Is the tramway T7 already working or bus285 still remains the only direct link from Orly to Louis Aragon metro station?
thanks

The terminal 2E is older than that, this is a new departure lounge in this terminal that opened last year.

Paris Airport Opens Museum for Passengers

Charles de Gaulle Airport’s Espace Musées will show the best of French heritage

Quote:
Officials at the airport inaugurated the museum space last December, hoping to improve the airport’s image and gain a competitive edge over other European hubs. And financially struggling artistic institutions are eager to promote their collections to the millions of passengers that come through annually. As for travelers, they finally have more than duty-free cigarettes and 15 minutes of free Wi-Fi to look forward to.

According to Augustin de Romanet, CEO of ADP, it will provide passengers at Charles de Gaulle “a long Parisian walk, rich in emotions” so that “the world travelers take with them one last image of the magic of France.” This image of French culture includes French cuisine, fashion, and luxury.
The huge hall M, which has nearly 20,000 square feet of commercial space, integrates green spaces, lounges, and luxury boutiques to evoke the air of the streets of Paris.

For the implementation of this project, Augustin de Romanet said, “We are surrounded by the best specialists: Francis Briest, co-president of the auction house Artcurial, with ADP, which initiated the project and chairs the endowment Espace Musées; Serge Lemoine, former president of the Musée d’Orsay, which ensures the artistic direction of all exhibitions; Nelson Wilmotte, who designed the architecture without forgetting the staging of the designer, and set designer, Hubert Le Gall.”

An estimated 1,500 to 2,000 visitors are expected to visit the airport museum each day.

What about Noctilien for nighttime transfers to ORY? Is it reliable or it's better to take a cab? I can't see any direct routes from Gare de Montparnasse. However, there are two routes from Gare de Lyon to ORY.
If I understand the Noctilien fare system, I should buy a ticket (1,70eur) for the circular line from G.d.Montparnasse to G.d.Lyon, and then three tickets from G.d.Lyon to Orly airport (zone 1->2->3->4), because I can't use the same ticket on different buses. Is that correct?
Thanks

I believe you only have to buy one single ticket for zone 1-2 and then two tickets for zone 3 and 4.
I never took the noctilien so I can't really say for sure, but I heard the service was working well and they improved the security. You've got the N144 and N131 from gare de lyon.

A taxi to Orly is about 40€.

Thanks. Eventually we decided to book a taxi. Using G7 Taxi app it was as easy as a pie, and you see the taxi coming to your location on GMaps in real time. The cost (plus night fare) was 30eur from Montparnasse, which is closer to ORY then the inner arrondissements.
