a diagram on SSP is no evidence for the final height of the tower .

One year without a single post and then this. OK. And...?
Does this really mean it's alive?

i dont like it, and i think the chances of it getting built are low. there are already enough towers on hold

Actually, the chances of this tower getting built are higher than you think. This is part of the Lakeshore East complex and that neighborhood will be built out eventually. Lakeshore East has been a success and I believe this is the next tower in line to be built and there's not really any rush so it's going up eventually even if it's 5 or plus years down the road.

Well... this render quite specifically does; with the building face the camera dead on, on top of the light beams, really is quite reminiscent of the Metropolis poster.

Arquitectonica has a history of putting holes in the middle of buildings. If anyone remembers the opening shots of each episode of Miami Vice.

1982. Atltantis Condominium on Brickell Avenue in Miami.

This one is still alive:

...Post-Aqua, is it back to standard-issue buildings at Lakeshore East?

No. It’s going to be tough to top that building. But we hired Arquitectonica, the Miami firm, and they designed a building that straddles the street. We were ready to go. Thank God we never started. A great market opportunity, in the next two or three years, after you get through the overhanging inventory.
