Interesting photos of a drained section of the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal at Lock 10 by Brindley House and the BT Tower (Newhall Street). This was taken from from Cornwall House where I work, it refilled over the course of the day. Not sure why it was drained, possibly the work of some young hoodlums unless there was actually some maintenance issue with that section but it didn't look like it.

Nice pics Benbob.

Love the one of the canal bridge and also Lichfield Cathedral. Very close to my heart that place.

All are fantastic photos. That last one with Liverpool Cathedral in the distance is beautiful - I especially love the light coming through the spire.

You should enquire about selling your Cube photo to Make Architects or whoever is running it. Would look great on their promotional material and you could get a tasty bit of cash in return.

It certainely does, awful hotel! I was on the top floor which had access to the balcony (great for pics) terrible uninsulated doors that allowed all the traffic noise and 20 minutes of car horns in. Did it used to be an office block?

Heres the link if anyones interested to my photo page of brum shots in Urban showcase

Nope, it's always been a hotel. Believe it or not, it was actually refurbished a couple of years ago...

I could see it had been recently refurbished, but it was poorly done, the walls were all over the place and teh carpet (while relatively new and clean) was poorly laid and coming up at the edges.

NeilM - great photos.

Is it just me or does the first one look like there is an atomic mushroom cloud in the distance!?

Haha, never noticed that, it'd be somewhere over Dudley way if it was (no comment).

I took this during December while the German Market was there.

I thought the jumble of architecture styles made it look like there had been an explosion in an architecture factory
