This is a really impressive project. Given the width to height ratio, and the fact that it is basically alone, it really is beginning to look freakishly tall.

It's amazing how this already looks as tall as Shanghai Tower and yet it isn't even topped out yet. I guess that is because there is no 1,614 foot SWFC standing next to it.

Congrats to the tallest 'walkable' roof building in the world when completed.

Shanghai Tower has the highest 'walkable' roof. It has the big circle inside the spiral, and that is definitely higher than 600m.

Cladding looks fantastic, it will be interesting to see what the crystal at the top looks like when this slender monster is completed!

Yes, ST may be taller to walk on, but you slip you die!,, GF117 you could have a football game on it's roof,, just don't get sliced by the point of the diamond.
Cladding looks great, thanks for the pic Barbaric, and Tianjin smile.

On page 1087 of the Shanghai Tower thread are two really great pictures showing exactly where the roof is. It is six sections of glass down from the top and/or right at the top of the second section of vents/cut outs.

The fifth picture of post 21,732 and the picture on post 21,738.

There are six drawings of ST on SkyscraperPage and the approximate roof height is 605 meters or 1,984 feet. So ST does have a higher roof than GF 117 but only be 30 feet (1,954 feet for GF 117).

The diamond on top by the way is around the edge hence the roof is flat. The diamond will offer great panoramic views from the top.

Another reason may be the tapering. I think it produces an optical illusion when looking skywards from ground sufficiently near the building like in many of the recent pictures.

The brain thinks that the building tapers because of the perspective so it must be really high. But in fact it tapers in reality.

Good Info, 30 feet is 3 stories, so taller roof! I'm just a slappy for this bldg.,, doesn't get much love/views or anything for that matter,, thankful there's a couple forumers who provide these great updated pics, not everyday like the "popular" bldgs., but at least once a week. barbaric is #1 provider to GF117

Did they reach the highest point, or how many meters it must reach?

Are there more skyscrapers planed to be build around the "beast-tower"?
I mean 150m+
It looks so outstanding, quite alone.

These pics show the construction site across the road from Goldin 117. But those buildings are nowhere tall enough to make this tower not stand out.
