I wonder how long it has been since there was any work done on this building?

I was thinking the same thing. Imagine what it would be like for the workers pumping concrete from the top of the jump form.

They are steel columns and I have not seen concrete pumps there in any of the pictures.

The four corner columns are made of steel (rebar?) filled with concrete (hence the jump form). Im guessing they need to pump the concrete from somewhere...

Doesn't look like they are in a hurry to get this thing finished.

They are made of three open steel boxes assembled side by side. Those ready-made elements are hoisted to the top and welded together. There are no jump forms because no concrete is poured. Instead there are jump platforms for welding the elements. The newest attached steel boxes are visible above the platforms. That would not be the case if those were jump forms for concrete pouring.

Well, the corners dosn't seem to be more „unconnected” then the cranes, but much more massive. And if the missing floor are finished, they will probably be under way more stress than now.

So the building is simply sold from a subsidiary of the Goldin Group to another for the purpose of selling the entire thing. The company is looking to woo Beijing based SOE to move their HQ to the building. So expect a name change for this building sometime in the future.

The stated completion date is end of 2017.

On the bright side, while researching this, I found that Discovery Channel had being embedded with the construction team for this building since 2011. So once this finishes, perhaps we can get a documentary out of it.

Why is this building and SHENZHEN | Ping An Finance Center have the same architecture?
Same architect or same developer?

Aside from being slender with square bases and a taper there is hardly anything similar in their designs. You may want to take another look at the Ping An's page...

Personally, I think Tianjin GF117's design is pretty mediocre, and it does not fit
in the surroundings at all.

I agree.. even though the crow could turn out to be a "life saver" for this tower. Imo off course.
And the surroundings do no present a great view..
