I went there on Sunday trying to get some pics. I was just able to get a couple of the entrance. Tried to get some pics from a higher perspective, but the buildings I tried to get into were locked from the angle I needed to get to look into the area. I'll try to post the other pics later, but there probably won't be much new to look at. There is a huge camp of workers constructing this, though.

Thanks Clashman for the effort. We look forward to seeing any update of Tianjin's skyscrapers.

2014.

And for those complaining about the infrequency of updates, keep in mind that there's little visually exciting to see, and that it's in a relatively inacessible location far from the city center, so few people would bother to drive 20km or more just to see what is currently a pit with a few piling machines...

I don't even remember seeing pictures of a tianjin CBD with buildings getting concentrated to form a nice flowing skyline . All the projects i have been following are spread across this mamoth muncipality.

The one reason why this happens in many urban developments is because .Say they decide a huge project in what was previously a swamp .The beuracrats and politicians buy up all the lands around this swamp and then they consciously allocate projects in this area . So the surronding real estate value shoots through the sky with new huge constructions and economic activity around this area and they make like millions and millions . This is what happened in my city and in general this is how beuracrats make money legally

I hope it is the pingan international finance tower . Coz that is the most confusing project with no clear mandate .

Yes, it's one of Tianjin's 11 new CBDs (there were renders of all of them a while ago on Bohai forum, but I didn't save the link ).
