China is just insane; adore this tower, I love simplistic designs done well

Estimated completion?

So this circular concrete grid seems to be for the actual tower. Now they have to dig all that soil out, then make concrete slab and then the tower will start rising. Still, something like half of the year of waiting for some concrete action here. And all that only if the pilling for the tower is already done.

Is this Golden Finance 117 building part of the new Eco city planned for Tianjin?

cant answer it completally, but i can say that GF is outside the city. on google maps it looks like its build in the middle of nowhere, but a lot of projects are there going up, so most likely it is the zone you mean

Thank you for that explanation.

Quote:
The Eco-city site is located 40 km from Tianjin city centre and 150 km from Beijing. The site is 10 km from the core district of the Tianjin Binhai New Area (TBNA), with the southern tip of the site only a 5 to 10 minute drive from the TEDA, the current driving force behind Tianjin's economic growth.

Nope its not that project. I also don't remember its name but here is the post I made some time ago clearly explaining the location.

I made some research, and now would like to clear some things up:

First. This thing is vast . For the last two years from time to time we were provided with some "front gate pictures" like this:

But i guess most of you (well at least I) was quite confused where to look at right? Where the hell is the bloody tower you would ask? And that is one thing , another is that what we can se after that gate is just small part of the development. Let me give you a picture (first plot you can see at the above "gate picture"):

That I thing really shows how big it is, and if believe google earth, and that pictures have really been taken june 28 2009, they still have a lot to do.

Finally, as for the location, the coordinates are 39 05' north, and 116 04' east, and here is the goole maps link:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...77162&t=h&z=14

And ones again let me give you a picture:

As you can see the development isn't only out of the center of Tianjin, but out of the whole city actually

For the end, i would like to inform moderators, that this tower is no longer called China 117 tower. According to the official developers site (http://www.goldinppt.com) its now called Goldin Finance 117. So please change the threads title.

And also from the official site, really nice wideo about the project:

Im really waiting for them to change the design of the main tower. Looks really bland for such a tall tower. Also, of the many planned developments in China, this has to be one of the worst. It lacks beauty and doesn't seem to be planned as well as other developments

I have to agree. None of it looks very interesting, it doesn't look like an organic development of the Tianjin metro, and for such a major city (in NE China anyway), especially one that at least looks like it's being built from the ground up, it's not very innovative.

With all that said, it's good to see the project moving once again, after having been quiet for so long.
