They wrote on Skyscrapers.cn that they want to build a 77 floor twin tower project next to this one:

项目除了有八十万平方米写字楼面积，包括一百一十七层高的「高银中国117广场」、两幢七十七层高双子星写字楼大厦及多幢甲级写字楼大厦外，还有二十万平方米商场连接一起；另外，有六十万平方米的住宅，休闲设施包括国内第一个马球会，以及国际学校。更为特别的是，项目将附有政府办公大楼，可以让市政府机构进驻租用，方便进行招商，这套理念得到市政府的认同，而且十分支持该项发展计划，已列为天津市二十个重点项目之一。

Looks pretty IMO. But I don't understand why do they want to build a supertall right there. The skyline of the city shown on the picture is appealing, but I don't see a purpose of building such a big structure right there.

Could we clarify: was the groundbreaking ceremony for the tower itself, or for the industrial park of which the tower will (or may) form a part?

There's a ~20 story building in the industrial park if you consider that a highrise (http://business.thip.gov.cn/upload/p...8_IMG_0741.JPG). Other then that, the rest of the industrial park is lowrise (under 10 stories).

It was for the tower itself. The industrial park existed for a few years already.

Groundbreaking ceremony doesn't mean real start of construction, it is just a ceremony. We'll not change the title until we see some images of the construction works.

Some projects are started months after the groundbreaking ceremony takes place.

yeah, thats true !!! groundbreaking doesnt mean the construction start immediately, but any schedule show the construction start date?
i do really hope this building get build and finish as soon as possible.
