The Chinese do not joke, when they propose something, they build it!

this will have an amazing race with ping an considering both are just out of the ground and in similar stages, it will be interesting to see which construction will go faster

Is that Tianjin World Financial Center in the far distance in the first picture by BM that I see? I know GF 117 is just outside the western edge of Tianjin city so it might be possible that TWFC is indeed visible in the distance.

I take they have to live there in order to save money,, I imagine they make much less than the American Iron Worker, sad and they build much quicker..Probably far less polotics involved.

I love these buildings and all, but I sort of wish China did not skip over the "lack of space, need to build up phase,'' like New york and Hong kong needed to do. These buildings are built for tourism and landmarks, not demand.

In China there's enough demand for all types of projects, including dense inner-city projects, suburban projects like this, and entirely new cities like Yujiapu.

No. It is much colder than Shanghai in Winter. As crows fly, Tianjin is about 1000km (600 miles) North Northwest of Shanghai. The sky there is not always as blue as
the one in the pictures.

No seriously Tianjin is not very clean as of now. It's not horrible but for now it's your typical Chinese city with high air pollution and general dirtiness. Shanghai is much cleaner right now but Tianjin will get better over time.
