That building to the right of the Goldin Finance building reminds me of The Index in Dubai...

117 has a footprint about the same size as WTC1 or the former Twin Towers, except it will be nearly 50% higher to the roof!

All of the buildings in the background appear to be same from this angle.

I think it stops right above the power line area.

I am currently working on Ping An, then I will probably do the Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook because it is fairly easy, and over halfway up. Shanghai Tower will be next, that is going to be really hard! I may do Greenland Wuhan, Tianjin CTF, and Zhongguo Zun in Beijing, although i may wait until they are actually rising first.

I use Autodesk Maya. If you are a student, and have a student email address, you can get a student license for free.

Yes, a very long way! The main floors, excluding the crown and base atrium, are about 1/8 done. There are 8 sections, and one has been completed.

Comparison of Ping An and Goldin Finance:

(click for full size)

In terms of bulk, they are about the same. Ping An is wider at the base, but tapers a lot at the top. Goldin Finance tapers gradually the full height, but is still fairly large at the top. Goldin is higher to roof, and Ping An is higher to tip. I don't think Ping An is really cheating, the design really would look weird without the spire on top.
