well, maybe they are thin in cash or really redesigning the project to make it more attractive for investors. Its a strategy that works sometimes better to strike with higher quality structure when the market is down and make sure they sell and fill all the lease spaces they offer which will be more attractive. It sound crazy and unrealistic but if its true, its opposite to all what other developers does at such financial time from comprimising on quality of the product and cutting down cost. The projects is costing Billions of dollars, either you cut few hundred of millions and deliver same units as everyone else, or you add hundred of millions and domian the market!

Tower 2: Installation of scaffoldings for construction of periphery beams at P02 level in progress.

Tower 3 : Preparation of nibs at P01 level in progress as fabrication of HCS is completed in the factory.

Is the concrete pillar structure surrounding the core going to go the full height of the building or is this just for the first few floors before becoming the more common steel? If it is a concrete on the outside right to the top it will take a while for this building to rise.

Thought it might have been needed for strengthening due to the upper floors stretching across each of the towers.

Tower 1: Pouring works for Corewall at L5M-L6.

Tower 3: Installation of Hollow core slab at P01 level completed.

Tower 3- Laying of mesh and casting of toppings for Hollow Core Slab at P1 level in progress. First part completed.

I read an Arabianbussiness.com article earlier this year were the Dubai Pearl CEO (or someone from Dubai Pearl) said that construction will restart in the last quarter of 2010 so maybe it's real but maybe not.
