It's more a combination of Ottoman architecture and Star wars architecture.

when will this project been approved?
considering the previously hindered project which was actually "not acceptable" for Istanbul, can we hope that this one will be realized? -with or without any disapproval of Turkish chamber of architects -

Well, I am sure Chamber of Architects will find some stupid reason, some stupid non-historical buildings to "protect" and slow down or halt the process.

In my opinion, this is the best combination of Traditional Ottoman architecture with the modern one.

Btw we shouldn't omit the best architectural piece in that side of the city, which makes this area special. The Haydarpaşa Rail Station which will probably become a railway museum after high-speed rail starts functioning.

System : "In my opinion, this is the best combination of Traditional Ottoman architecture with the modern one."

- I also think that this project is a good piece of combination consisting of traditional Ottoman and modern points of view of architecture, and i strongly hope that this project will be realized soon.

System: "Btw we shouldn't omit the best architectural piece in that side of the city, which makes this area special. The Haydarpaşa Rail Station which will probably become a railway museum after high-speed rail starts functioning."

- To be honest, i could not recognise where the Haydarpasa Rail Station is in the above illustrations. Hope they will lay more stress on this bulding in the project.

I totally agree about that they should give more importance to Haydarpaşa Station, by reducing the density of the buildings around it while increasing it as it gets further. So no other building will over-shadow the beauty and standing out appearence of the building.

Here is the location;

Waterfront reconversions are great, and the urban project seems very good, but sincerely its a shame a hole part of a beautiful and historic city like Istambul became to look like a "pop vacation style" development, that in 10 years or 20 will be boring because all looks like the same and you cannot change a building at a time, or the group will seem unbalanced..

I say this because I'm from Portugal and in here the "real estate interests" are applying this same "recepy" of architecture witch pleases everybody in the beginning all over our popular beach areas
The once nice and lively villages became a big repetition of buildings with the same "motives" over and over breaking the difference and identity that are so characteristic in historic architecture...

... but thats OK they put palm trees everywhere and everybody love it!!!lol

This seems to me even worse doing it to an historic urban fabric, if you change it change it with the better quality that exists.

Look to the Kartal Urban Project, that I think is a project with the level of Istambul legacy of great buildings!!!

Istambul.. one of the most beautiful cities in the world with no doubt. Keep it beautiful.

Historical buildings will stay

This is another project which is sure to put Istanbul on the Map. Istanbul will be the next La Cote d'Azur, Monte Carlo etc.

Istanbul is heavily investing in mega yacht marinas and associated infrastructure. Add to this Ultra Luxurious Hotels and Shopping centre's saturated with designer labels such as Fendi, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent and you have the new Rich's capital in the world Istanbul. Haydarpaşa will contain all of these. There are also plans for the actual Imperial Ottoman Station to become the world's firts 8 Star hotel!

No wonder Roman Abramovich has acquired several properties here for himself and his "Navy" of Gigayachts.
