That's strange... why Russian, Polish and Romanian in Germany but not English, that is understandable by most foreigners (although pictograms themselves are clear enough)?
Maybe they wanted to say that Poles, Romanians and Russians are those who need more to be educated of being clean? (not very politically correct, though)

It reminds me a sign I saw in Trieste harbour: "no dumping waste" written only in Italian and... Turkish. That place is full of Turkish trucks that wait to board Ro-Ro ships to Turkey.

I think its because these countries have problems with the African Swine Fever, like on the shield stands, and the Romanian is a bonus

It means this crossing is often used by blind persons and the drivers should be extra careful.

Well, that's generally the result of motorcyclist behavior. On some stretches they like to go really loud and fast which is a hazard and annoying for people who live there.

There's a stretch of dike along the IJssel River in the Netherlands where people complain about motorcyclists and whenever the police does checks there, they *always* revoke the driver's license of some motorcyclists (meaning they go more than 50 km/h over the speed limit).

Appently it means "do not touch the artwork". The municipalty is afraid of lawsuits/claims if people fall of the artwork.
Although the artist has said that it is perfectly fine, quoting "its just art made of leftover wood". Children should play on it.

PS. sorry direct linking is impossible due to issues with the newspaper. Just add the first and last bit together.

A W7-1 warning sign (down hill) posted in a footpath in Northern Virginia.

This is in Greece, at National Road 48. It does not comply with any Greek or other guideline, but it means approaching a tunnel - do not overtake. The manufacturer thought that would be a good idea to improvise and not post the appropriate sign.

Second sign: Economies of scale! Two signs, an informative and a regulatory combined in one!

Apart from the two poles used to erect the sign and considering other similar cases in Greece, those signs are sub-standard not only because they are not included to the regulations but also by taking into account the inferior material used to create them (not reflective, thin metal, poor paint).

Spot on. The "Poles, Romanians etc." who misbehave are not going to know English. But to be clear, neither would their counterparts in Germany. English isn't covered in those kinds of schools.

Pictograms don't work as well as a message in your own language.

I can't understand why motorcyclist love speeding in cities? Can they really enjoy the ride on a common residential street full of passengers, parked cars, speed bumps and stuck traffic?

Some European politicians try to create the EU superstate. Loads of crap has already been approved at the level of EU. Nevertheless, nobody has introduced a simple international and comprehensive symbols expressing the day of a week for additional sign purpose. Let it be the number in circle with 1 representing Monday and 7 representing Sunday.

Why writing "Saturday, Sunday and weekdays"? Wasn't it simpler to write "every day"?

This is how it is done in Norway :

Black: Workdays
In parentheses:Saturday
Red : Sunday and holidays

It works for me, no clue if there is an international standard.
