Spanish construction group announces joint venture with Libya

Spanish construction group BTP Sacyr Vallehermoso announced the creation of a joint venture with the Libyan government, AFP reported Sunday (December 16th). "Sacyr Vallehermoso and the State Libyan Company for development and investment have established a partnership for the development of infrastructure works in Libya," a Sacyr statement said, adding that the Libyan government plans to launch an infrastructure investment project totalling more than 50 billion euros. Sacyr holds 60% of the new company. The Libyan state holds the remainder. Plans emerged during Libyan leader Muammar Kadhafi's visit to Spain.
