should be soon then!

the aspers have done a fabulous job of leveraging and developing partners. while their donation of $20m is very significant, in the big picture it is only 6% of initial costs, yet they are making it happen! amazing amount of public money going into this - $151M initially, and then $22M *annually* for operations. that is over half a billion in just the first 15 years!

Does anyone have a full site plan? All the drawings show people coming from all directions en mass, however, how are they getting there? I suspect there is excellent public transit access to the forks, however, there surly will still be some parking and the like. With such a large budget, I'm really hoping there was the foresight to put parking underground.

Also, what are the yearly visitor expectations?

Most major Canadian museums get 1-1.5m per year and I'm wondering how this one will stack up.

Are there any drawings of internal spaces? Now I'm curious about the actual make-up and how the internal spaces fit with each other. Can anyone go up to the top of the tower? What material is the facade - it is reflective / transparent, opaque?

Wow...a testament to poor taste. But like a previous poster said, it is quite the conversation piece. Certainly doesn't fit the sophistication which characterizes Winnipeg.

Doogerz you're simply jealous. The museum design is original and stunning.

A reason for people to come here now--YAAAAY!

I want this to get built ASAP, and I know the owner of the Inn at the Forks is ready to expand to coincide with the opening of the museum!

The design looks very "sophisticated" to me. Complex is a better word. I am still trying to get my mind around how it will look in real life. I still don't know whether I like it or hate it. Antoine Predock is a well known and talented architect, I am sure he put a lot of thought and a lot of work into his design. I can't wait until its complete.

I cant wait for this to start , I wish it were being built closer to the city height though like amongst the other towers.
