Suwon 수원 Pics

Suwon is one of the major cities in Seoul Metropolitan area... it's population is 1,069 thousands(2006)... the 8th largest city in South Korea... This city is famous for the historic heritages... Hwaseong Castle and Haenggung(the detached palace) built by King Jeongjo in 18th century... I believe this city collects huge figures of tax because the head place of Samsung Electronics is located here.

Hwaseong... The ancient city wall of Suwon

It takes 2-3 hours to make a round of the wall on foot.

Seoho Lake Park

Suwon has many lakes or reservoirs on it's surroundings... the name of Suwon(水原) had originated from that geographical circumstance.

Suwon's main station had been rebuilt and was reborn in 2003 with it's attached new department store.

I got the impression that the city is very clean and brand-new feeling when i've been to somewhere in Jangan-gu two years ago.

I don't live in Suwon... but I like this city's location, scale, historicity... and self-sufficiency that is distinguished from the other cities in Seoul Metro Area.

Suwon is another mega city with 1milion people.
and the capital of Gyeonggi Province.

and You can also see the gray colored two big cities, Incheon(left) and Seoul(right) at center of the province.
