If you guys really think that NYC hasn't been getting a white Christmas, then try going to LA or Miami, which are cities that never get snow.

Just wait when we get thumped by a blizzard, but it does melt soon after, it doesn't stay on the ground for months on end like it does further north.

Haha, as I said...if you want to see the white stuff, go inland.

Hartford (and other inland cities) almost always sees snow at the same time when NYC sees rain and at best, a mix. It's just the way it is...the Atlantic Ocean does a good job of moderating your winters.

Hell, it was snowing earlier here...put a nice coating on the hard, brown slush still around from that storm two weeks ago....the snow still around is too hard to melt!

If you are in the southern hemisphere right now, they are having summer.

i LOVE snow too... and i want LOTS of it. Winter without snow is like fall without leaves, spring without rain, and summer without heat.

NYC is most beautiful during and after a big snow

Its only a white christmas if theres snow on the ground the day of christmas. Or it snows that day. Which we havent had in a longgggg time.

Because manhattan is one giant heat island, so the snow vaporizes before hitting the pavement

NYC is on the wrong side of the water...doesn't get hit hard with lake-effect snows like Buffalo, eastern Michigan and other areas which get tons of snow.

Still no snow in NY? Few days ago we got tones of it here in Bucharest and I hate it cause I had to shovel it... not to mention that tomorrow I get back to school (faculty).

Never snows in NYC? All I can say is Blizzard of '96, The most snow I've ever seen in my life & I grew up in Rochester. Snow is cool by me, it is winter, I say bring it on, this aint no pansy ass southern town.

I do feel for the bikers and shovelers tho and diggers out of snowdrifts for alt-side parkin.

To sum up how I feel -- snows cool -- slush and ice suck. I AM looking forward to monday and tuesday tho 60 degrees will feel nice !!!!

I, too, wish we got more snow in the city than we do. I guess it has something to do with the effects of all this water and coastline we're surrounded by. I was in Boston for New Year's Eve and it was snowing when i left the next day. It was really beautiful, then i get back to New York and it's sunny and dry.

Some of you people need to have your heads examined. Because it hasn't snowed much you say you want it to snow but when it does then the same people will be complaining on why it snows too much. Always wanting what you don't have.

Snow and a city of 8 million don't seem like a good mix to me.

Yeah, but this not only applies to snow. Some people say they want this and that, but when they finally get it they still complain, only now they complain because they have this and that. It's complicated... professional help is needed.
