Has anyone already come up with a name for this particular building style? I like "Arabtacky".

OK? Take your 2 cents somewhere else, no need to brag about your lack of respect.

At least more elaborate than a normal box . The core could rise in a normal speed, just the floors arround will take longer i guess.

I'm not a fan either but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It definitely looks like an interesting concept and at least all the condos will have lots of light coming in from all the sides.

There are two main colors here and they don't really look that well together. Cladding needs to be reconsidered and I hopefully believe they'll figure out a way to modify it.

Agree on the the natural lighting. The spire could stop at the last flat and not go all the way up/wrap around the diamond and up. Also, darker colors for the cladding?

Roof height is still 388m (or according to other info 395m)?

Pretty nice design if you ask me. Yes cladding needs to be reconsidered but how the spiralled apartment blocks stick out it really gives it this feel of an upwards drill. Cool

This thing is ludicrous. This design can not seriously be under construction, could it? My only thought as to how this monstrosity got approved is that some overindulgent sheikh's 8 year-old son wants to be an architect when he grows up.

I think I will give it a chance. It could turn out nicely if the materials aren't bad. Plus, the view from the base should be astounding.
Of course, the giant diamond on top is the kitschiest thing I can imagine.
