Does anyone know where I can aquire detailed information on the جدة Dazzling Diamond Tower to add to a case study. Also any philosophical, meaningful reason(s) why Jeddah has aspirations to be 'Chicago' of the Mid East? Jeddah is Jeddah and Chicago is Chicago - the two have a unique identity - something that should be treasured جدة! جدة! جدة!

Apparently construction is resumed. Naif talked with one of the engineers on site. He said they will reach ground level in 6 months.

CTBUH have changed this one to under construction, so I guess it's pretty official

I'm not entirely keen on the design, though I'm interested in seeing how it turns out.

The masarat tower next door is even worse.
Unfortunately the cheap and tacky have better odds of being built because of their lower cost. Pile 'em high, sell 'em cheap.

Very interesting design. It looks like a triple spiral staircase on steroids. It would be nice to see closer renders of the "steps".

It's probably the first supertall that could realistically have fire escapes (external emergency stairs) that wouldn't be ugly or interfere with the design. But I highly doubt that it would actually have any external stairs.

Just put some pillows on every 'step' so that people can quickly jump down from floor to floor
