yes, it would perfectly blend in with the other scrapers. It would be 'boring' if it was a solitary building

correction: this precise locations was canceled, but the it is expected to rise in some other part of the city. Eather way, the desing and name would change, so this thread still has no reason to live.
When did this happen? It was never posted here.

At least it still has hope to rise on Manhattan Island... I wonder where else they were planning this tower. Downtown seems like the best choice, but it won't happen there.

Yeah, I recieved news about this sometime ago. Downtown would definitely not be a great place as it'll be difficult to have a good perspective of the building in such tight narrow streets. It'd fit in real nice in midtown though, where one will actually be able to appreciate the slight leaning effect it'll have over the streets..unless the whole design changes, which is more likely to happen...

What the he*ll are you people talking about. If this is the Girasole supertall thread it should be right on track to be built. I never heard anything about a cancelation. Ecspecailly now with the 7-line subway expansion, Related/Goldman building 13.5 msf of grade-A commercial space over the western yards and... oh yea, Brookfield building another 5-7 msf over the eastern yards that is already in site prep... I just walked by today and signs are up along with equipment already going to work for the platform. Cancelation...?

Well I'm guess the next best place is near the Hudson Yards. There's a lot of space available in the area since it's mostly old buildings and warehouses.

Sorry, I did not look on page one. I never even heard or seen this proposal before. Guess that's a good thing when so many supertalls are being proposed in NYC that you can't even keep track of them all.

My worst nightmare comes true, a twisting tower in a high density cluster, and with sharp edges, auch. I personally hope they rethink this.

Who knows, it might look spectacular... but I rarely like sharp pointed edges. The renders are very simplistic though. Il be waiting for more clear illustrations.

do you have any evidence that it won't get build or why are you so sure about that?

On WNY someone hinted that this project was dead for one reason or another.

This city has the most "iffy" supertalls ever right now. Basically, every supertall, dozens of them all over NYC, save the four WTC supertalls and three or four others, are 'up in the air.' Let's hope the MoMA Tower and friends can be taken of the 'iffy list.'

^ MOMA better be taken off that list. It would be a HUGE shame if it never becomes reality.
