I wouldn't know where to start if I were photographing Manhattan.

Manhattan is overload. There are so many things to photograph that you just have to ignore a lot of stuff. When I walked around, I focused mainly on the notable attractions. This is different from what I usually do; I usually like to photograph individual buildings and tell the history of the places (at least for commercial buildings). There's just too much to do that, though; you could take a hundred pictures from just a few blocks.

Manhattan is really unlike any other place that I've been to. In other places that I've visited and photographed, like Center City in Philadelphia, the North Shore in Pittsburgh, or Downtown in New Orleans, I think that I did a pretty good job in showing what the neighborhood looks like. I took over 200 pictures in the Financial District and I had to concede from the start that I could only show the most famous places, and mix in a little bit of the more obscure.

To commemorate those that died on September 11, here are some pictures from Arlington National Cemetery.

The Pentagon is visible from the Cemetery.

The west wall of the Pentagon, which is the wall that was the target on September 11. You can see the new facade, which covers where the plane hit. It's sickening to think that the last thing that the terrorists flew over before attacking our building is the graves of our greatest heroes.

Faces of the Fallen, a picture tribute to the soldiers that have died in Afghanistan and Iraq in order to protect us at home.

I got back from Chicago yesterday. Here is just one picture from my trip. This was taken Sunday during a boat tour of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River.

By the way, check my thread.. search for two street sign photos that I took and posted just for you!

I was born in October 1982, and the last time that a Philadelphia sports team won a championship, I was 7 months old. Last night, I got to celebrate a championship for the first time in my life. Because of the monumental circumstances, I drove up with friends and family members to watch the game in the middle of Center City. Here are just some of my favorite pictures from the celebration, after the Phillies won the World Series.

Here are more pictures from last night. Tomorrow is the Championship Parade. I will be taking literally hundreds of pictures, like last night.

Amazing pictures! It's always awesome to see so many people in the center of an American city.

I heard that night was crazy! I can't wait to see the championship parade pics!

Hree are some reject pictures, duplicate pictures, random pictures, and in general pictures from Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, that did not fit into my recent thread on the borough.

More from Jim Thorpe; these are some pictures from outside the borough, throughout Carbon County.

The town is named Jim Thorpe? Strange for a town to have the first name of a person as well as the family name. Absolutely STUNNING Autumn colours.. thanks for capturing them. The leaves here are falling fast and furious now!

Jim Thorpe was named after the athlete. The ton was originally called "Mauch Chunk", but when coal mining and industry subsided, the town renamed itself with Jim Thorpe's widow's blessing after him, in order to boost tourism. They also received premission from the widow to have Jim Thorpe buried in the town.
