For being a green city it sure dedicates a lot of land to car parking. i would think anyone attempting a green city from the ground up would plan in such a way as to encourage residents to walk. judging from that plan, quays valley ranch is based on antiquated city-planning theories which are no longer used in most places.

A few proposals for Downtown Fresno

Sorry, dont know much about them.

Wyndham Hotel - 15 floors

The Old Armenenian Complex - Featuring 17, 10, & 8 floor mixed use towers. Plus the US Court of Appeals built in 2007. I am not sure if those block buildings are part of it.

Fresno Sheraton Convention Hotel - 22 story hotel. I think this may have been cancelled.

Hanford, California

Pics of the town i live in , Hanford, California, 30 miles south of Fresno. Pop is 55,000. County Seat of Kings County (150,000) The town is where modern and historic structures meet. from historic downtown to retail and office complexes. Hanford preserves many historic important buildings, from the courthouse to the old jail. City has grown from 43,000 residents in 2000 to 55,000 today, creating new strip malls, new housing and taller structures. Hope you enjoy the pictures...!

Hanford And Sorrounding Areas...

Armona- 4,000 residents and doubling within 5 years..with almost 10,000 residents....sandwiched between Hanford(55,000) and Lemoore(25,000) projections show that those 3 towns will connnect creating a a bigger "city."Only 1 street divides hanford and armona and 5 streets Lemoore and armona..

Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino In Lemoore, new 7-story hotel and expansion of casino...the hotel is the tallest building in Kings County. Soon the casino will start construction on a second hotel tower creating a circle...

Lemoore NAS- The largest master-jet base in the West Coast.

Corcoran- a town of 23,000 residents, included are 10,000 that are in prison..the town is known for its two large prisons, and housed many famous prisoners, such as Charles Manson....

Avenal- a town of 16,000 residents, included 6,000 that are in prison..this town also has a state prison. Avenal grew up with the discovery of oil, but now its mainly a small rural agriculture town. Most of the outter skyline are oil pumps....

Kettleman City- a town of 1,500 residents, mainly a fast food stop kinda town..with lots of fast food restaurants, and lots of gas stations..also is ready for redevelopment, which will bring another 10,000 residents within a few years..the town couldnt grow cause shortage of water, but the funny thing is that it borders California Aquaduct....Highway 41, Interstate 5 and the aquaduct slice through the town...

Lemoore- a town of 25,000 residents, home of Kings County's only college campus, West Hills College (but Hanford will get one soon), home to the Tachi Hotel & Casino, Naval Air Station, and the largest cheese factory in the world..

more pics coming soon...
