Have to love the saturation bias that dominates these threads. How anyone can say Perth will be more impressive than Sydney in a few years with a straight face just blows me away. I only consider the views of the overseas members and even then you have work out whether they're expats from Sydney or Melbourne.

BTW, Sydney FTW.

I agree. And as i said i just like the simplicity of Perth. Sydney lokks good from a distance but at street level you could be anywhere.

BTW whats been going n this summer. Pics 3 and 4 were taken about an hour before 5 and 6. Look how quick the cloud rolled in

Isnt it 70 m tall? In Leeds that would be like the 5th tallest building at the moment

Melbourne has more buildings? more height? lol
Melbourne has approx 400 skyscrapers in the CBD compared to Sydney with over 800.
Sydney and melbourne have same amount of skyscrapers over 500ft/150m which is about 28.
but when you go down in height, sydney starts to pull away.
it has nearly double the amount of bldgs over 90m/300ft then melbourne.
Sydney really has the density like no other aussie city
..It has half a dozen satelitle CBDS with many more skyscrapers-ie- North sydney, chatswood,St leonards,Bondi,Redfern ect. while melbourne doesnt really have any, it mainly concentrates on its CBD and adjacent docklands and southbank precints with long stretch of st kilda rd.
Sydney is very lucky to be nestled in what most people say is the worlds most beautiful natural harbour.which highlights the skyline even further.
rant over..lol

So true Culwulla but i really think cites like Perth and Brisbane willbe emmensively impressive to people but we shouldn't rule out adelaide as it seems to have alot of nice projects.Sydney on the other hand has gone for quality over quantity which is a good move because Sydney already has loads of buildings.Space for instance has catched my eye and personally it it building which every city would like to have.I think Melbourne's docklands will turn out great and already is starting to look brilliant. But by far Perths harbor will be one to watch. But alll australian cities are great and gold coast might show some stunners like the new hilton.

Great skylines! All Australian cities are wonderful. I prefer the skyline of Goldcoast though.

Sydney Opera House part of the skyline? It definitely adds visual interest, but it's not really big enough to have much impact on the overall skyline. Skyline technically should focus on the line the buildings make with the sky. Melbourne has the best skyline. Sydney has the better setting and more famous landmarks: the Opera House, the Sydney Tower, and the bridge. Sorry, but I don't know what it's called.
