Hi guys, not posted here in ages.
Good point there Langur, although IMO the Lippo Centre is a bit of a minger! However, the Bank Of China Tower is a stunning, iconic building and one of the best skyscrapers in the world IMO. Neo Bankside is looking very, very good. When so much contemporary architecture in London is so mediocre and value-engineered, we've got to be grateful that Richard Rogers is still giving us high quality and interesting developments such as this. Oh and I agree that Bankside Lofts (the development which includes the yellow cylindrical building) is pretty good too!

I have to say I'm not really taken in by the red.

I think the red is one of the many things that helps make this development all the more insteresting and stylish.

I see how it stands out, but personally I prefer more natural looking colours to appear on buildings, like the lovely wooden shutters. Overall it is still a fantastic development though.

Have to agree - I'm not too keen on the red either.

I still think that this development is great for the area but there are some serious issues with privacy for glazed apartments such as these especially as the area is incredibly busy.

I think a less saturated red may have been better, like something half way between what we have and corten steel.

IMO the red is the best bit, without it this would be nothing special.

I disagree. Yes the red is attractive but not the main draw for me. The diagonal cross bracing makes this building different from many others. The fact that you can see the structure, you start to understand how it has been put together.

The red is to compliment the red brick of Tate Modern and to a lesser degree create a contrast to the blue of Blue Fin.
