One thing i do admire about the Chinese is their ability to take on any challenge and dream big....so many projects on at the same time and as far as i can see the global credit crunch isn't afeecting them..

Seems like Raffles City Hangzhou will be much shorter than expected. Used to be 80, 60 floors. Final version seems to be 60 floor twins. Look 280m+ to be, but I dont think they will reach 300m. Stunning design anyway. Designed by Steven Holl Architects, developed by CapitaLand Group (Singapore)

Former design

Final

Hangzhou does not need height, what it needs is harmony.

Still forecast of economic growth of China in 2009 is not less than 6.5 even in worst case scenario in most conservative ones. also, many points out that if China somehow can balance slowing down export by increase in domestic consumption, it can still hold on double digit numbers.

http://www.bh.gov.cn 2008-10-22 12:48

WUXI | North Station CBD Twin Towers (Proposed): 2x350m+, 89 floors Early announced to be 89 floors, the final size of these twins is still unknown.

More renders... Seem clearly shorter than the earlier annouced 89 floor target. Might be below 300m, we'll see. Around 78 and 68 floors.

z0rg:

Only a small correction about the supertall for Wuhan Tiandi... 2014 is the targeted completion date for the whole redevelopment of Yongqing Area. That 320m-tower however should be finished much earlier as construction has already started. I expect it to be topped out maybe in 2010.
