New supertall to be confirmed in Tianjin. This is about the big tower on the right. The project will be developed by Kowloon Development Company and CITIC Real Estate. The tallest tower in that cluster is being designed by KPF and will be taller than 300m.

The project will be rather modest considering that we used to expect 4x70~ floors, 300m~ according to older concept renders, but still... Hope we can get images of the final design soon.

The tallest tower in this model is the Kerry Center, 330m. The one in the background is COFCO Tower, currently under design and also above 300m.

They are releasing a huge twin tower project in Changsha, Furong district anytime soon, they said. The project is called 擎天广场 / Qingtian Plaza. 2x70 floors according to earlier press releases. Now they say the final version will be 2x80 floor twins, but this is not official. The project is being designed by KPF.

This is a rather old proposal. The 100-floor Quanzhou World Trade Center.

Wow!! Amazing find! I wish these crazy proposals in very secondary cities had any chance

I found this at Dennis Lau & Ng Chun Man website. May be an old project or whatever, but I never noticed it before when searching info about other towers. It is a project for Tianjin, around 80 floors. Hope the guys at bohai bbs know about it.

SUZHOU | The Wharf Supertower (Approved): 500m~, 100~ floors. This landmark project developed by The Wharf Holdings will be located at the core of Suzhou Jinji Lake new CBD. The tower is being designed by KPF. According to latest news, the final design might be around 500m.

Finally some info!! 460m, 110 floors. By Wilkinson Eyre.

Wilkinson Eyre developed the design for this 460m mixed-use tower as part of an invited international design competition. The tower will become a new icon in the science and technology district of Suzhou, in the Yangtze Delta area of China. The 3.5 million sqft tower will have 110 storeys and provide retail leisure, conferencing, office and residential space, as well as a luxury hotel and a series of viewing decks and sky gardens. The towers is organized as a series of horizontal strata with observation deck and sky lobby gardens, hotel balconies, office sky gardens, outdoor terraces and balconies at the podium, and a canal-oriented plaza at the base. Podium and tower levels are fused, presenting seamless transition of from through curvilinear lower floors, circular intermediate levels and ovaloid upper floors. The design cuts energy consumption by reducing cooling and heating loads, optimizing daylight and incorporating innovative recycling and renewable energy solutions. The tip of the tower is conceived as a beacon, with wind and solar powered optical sculptures, lighting displays and a series of sky gardens which will provide a landmark statement of ecological technologies for the city.

I exchanged some pms with the administrator of Bohai Forum asking about this project. After checking his sources, he found out that though this project was indeed a proposal for COFCO plot, it has been transfered to another plot at 天津开发区第一大街, TEDA First Avenue. Close to the TEDA Towers project (aka the pile of boxes).

We should open a thread as soon as it is officially launched. Should be easily above 400m.

By the way, they confirmed that both Sino-Steel and R&F Tower will be started in 2009. R&F Tower has 93 floors, and will be far above 400m including the spire.
