GUANGZHOU | East Tower | 488m, 120 floors. Approved – Under design. Architect: P&T Architects and HSA. Developer: New World Land. Soon after the new developer purchased the project in December 2008, a new design was announced breaking the symmetry of the former twin project. Though there are some available renders, the project remains under design phase, and no outcome is expected to be launched before May 2009. Works are scheduled to be started in September 2010. Project thread.
New proposal. So beautiful!

Some info about Politec Group's project for Wuxi. 300m+, 68 floors. Only a proposal by the moment, but at least we can confirm that it would be taller than 300m.

LIUZHOU | Diwang International Fortune Center | 303m, 60 floors. Approved – Clearing works. Developer: Shun Hing Group. Guangxi province’s tallest highrise was approved in early 2008 and ground breaking ceremony took place in March 2009. The completion schedule hasn’t been announced yet, and the actual construction will probably take a long time before starting. The final design remains uncertain as some new proposals were released in October 2008. Project thread.
Possible final design.

The total project area is approximately 600,000 square meters. It is comprised of a super high rise building, a fortune mall and a fortune club house. The super high rise building will be a 303 meter high and will be the iconic landmark of Liuzhou downtown.
The essence of the design of the Fortune Mall is derived from the symbiotic relationship between social interaction and consumerism. The guiding principles behind the HOPSCA paradigm are used to help create and unite these spaces. In this design concept; hospitality, office, retail and residential spaces are infused within a park like and entertainment setting to create a design that is transitory, practical and holistic to help create an environment that enhances the human experience.

They say they are starting a 434m tower in Nantong in mid 2010, called 江海之眼. Hope we can confirm this.

One of the best design I have seen in my life. Extremely futuristic but not overdone and a beautiful glass facade. Perfect.

CHONGQING | Jialing Fanying | 455m, 105 floors. Under construction – Ground works. Architect: KPF. Developer: Shui On Land. This is the main skyscraper of the Chongqing Tiandi masterplan, located at Hualongqiao district. The main project is composed by three towers erecting on a huge podium. The other two towers have 260m and 198m. The final version was unveiled in January 2008 after dismissing the former layout by SOM, whose height stood at 398m, preventing it from becoming Chongqing’s tallest building. However, the Jialing Fanying failed to become Chongqing’s tallest supertall again as the ASE Center was confirmed to be even taller in mid-2008. On the other hand, the Chairman of Shui On Group announced in October that year that the project would be eventually revised upwards once again to 460m+ in order to regain the title. The construction start has been delayed for several years due to the height race taking place between the main projects in town, but the completion date remains at 2014. Further revisions seem unlikely anyway. Project thread.

Shui On’s Lo ‘Positive’ About Chinese Home Market

July 9 (Bloomberg) -- Hong Kong billionaire Vincent Lo, who controls Shanghai-based developer Shui On Land Ltd., said the improvement in China’s home market has led the company to accelerate the building of some of its projects.

“As China’s property market has improved in the last few months, we are stepping up the construction of some of our projects” in Wuhan, Foshan and Chongqing, Lo told reporters in Hong Kong today. He also said he is “positive” about the outlook in the second half of the year.

China’s housing sales surged 45.3 percent in the first five months from a year earlier, the National Bureau of Statistics said June 10, which coincided with a fivefold jump in new loans. Any clampdown by regulators on mortgage lending would affect developers though demand for homes is strong, Lo said.

they are actually different projects. The one in Dachong will be over 300m, the newly released 100 floor project will be the headquarter for China Resources, and it will be located in the same district.

8.6 million registered permit holders, estimates of actual population are 10-14 million. The city is only 30 years old, and has trebled in in size in the last decade.
