CHONGQING | ASE Center | 463m, 88 floors; 320m~, 61 floors. Under construction - Foundation works. Architect: Dennis Lau & Ng Chun Man Architects. Developer: ASE Group. After confirming a total height of 463m, this project is confirmed to be the winner of the several-year height race between Chongqing supertall proposals. The developer, from Taiwan, is the world’s largest semiconductor company, and has managed to defeat all the real estate titans that competed for the title in the last years. Revision after revision, the project has been raised from just 300m to 463m, and the number of towers has varied along the time. Finally, the height for the secondary highrises has been reduced in favor of the two main skyscrapers. The final project has five towers to be constructed in two phases. The first phase is composed by the towers R1, R2 and R3, all residential. They have 193m, 55 floors; 202m, 58 floors and 235m, 69 floors respectively. The two main towers have 463m, 88 floors and around 330m, 61 floors respectively. The figures for the two big ones may be incorrect as it is unclear whether the crystal structure on the roof is included. ASE may be hiding the total height either as a strategy to guarantee the first position in the height race. Project thread.
ASE Center revised upwards to 468m, catching up with Jialing Fanying project.

Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, secretary of the Shanghai Municipal *** building a financial center in promoting the General Assembly had this expression: Some people asked me not to build four Shanghai center? Why is the State Council has only approved two centers? My understanding is that Shanghai's "four centers", the economic center of the relatively large area to cover the back of the three centers, as long as the building after the three centers, and it naturally became the economic center. In three centers, financial and shipping center in Shanghai not only bears, but also at the national level, therefore, introduced the need for national policy. Hongqiao unique choice

From the situation in Shanghai, the choice of Hongqiao area as an international trade center area of the main unique feature.

Shanghai Changning District is the west gate, which is the Hongqiao area of Shanghai Foreign Trade Center first. Hongqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved by the State Council set up the first of a tertiary industry-driven national development zones, 20 years, the Hongqiao Development Zone, the city has gathered 1 / 3 of the Consulate General in Shanghai and 1 / 2 in Consul General in Shanghai; in this region has a wide range of foreign-funded enterprises and more than 3,600 representative offices of foreign enterprises; here is the Shanghai International Merchandising concentration areas, only the cross-Shanghaimart procurement platform, to gather the 39 countries in the world multinational purchasing center, the initial formation of a modern procurement centers.

At the same time, the region corresponding facilities are perfect. To exhibition facilities, for example, have an international exhibition center, such as the World Trade Center, the exhibition display area of 45,000 square meters, is the reform and opening-up the first Shanghai Shanghai is currently one of the three major exhibition gathering.

Li new Changning District, the future will be 7 years or so, so that the main function of Hongqiao District in the functional layout, space vector, corporate concentration and ancillary services, can really take on the construction of Shanghai International Trade Center of the task. Preliminary consideration to Hongqiao Hongqiao Foreign Trade Center, the main function as the core of the region will be temporary Hongqiao Hongqiao Airport as the main functional areas of an important support area, focusing on the development of headquarters economy, professional exhibition, aviation logistics and service outsourcing and so on, will be headquartered Hongqiao area of trade into an international well-known corporate headquarters gather the Trade eco-park headquarters.

In order to enhance the function of this region, Changning will feature a number of key projects to build, the most bright spot is the 120-story building up to the World Trade Center in Shanghai, when Shanghai will become a symbol of the western region of construction, international trade organizations, International Chamber of Commerce organizations, national trade bodies gather platform.
Any renders or data about hight and so on? 120 stories is quite much!

Well, well. Here it comes Chongqing's newest supertall project, designedy MAD Studio.

3 proposals, all of them look clearly taller than 400m.

Proposal 1.

Proposal 2

Proposal 3

Proposal 1 is one of the ugliest things I've seen in my life, sorry.
Proposal 2 looks OK.
Proposal 3 looks so so, a little overdesigned.

I like the 1st one. In reality it will be a sculptural entity, a huge one. The other two will look like normal large skyscrapers, whereas the first one will look less like a building, more like an intervention. I would love to walk round the corner and find a scene like this one day, then looking up:

#2 looks like a less-good Aqua.

#3=very pretty.

I'd go with 1 or 3.

Oh, and I love the Chongqing proposals. There are some amazing designs among them. I guess I kinda prefer this one:

Bit futuristic with the organic lines and all.

proposal 1: lmao now I know why they are called MAD. it looks great and stuff in the renders but in real it wil ruin the skyline.
proposal 2: is best imo, good addition to a skyline and looks nice. Who cares if it looks a bit like the aqua thingy.
proposal 3: is nice but they bulged it too much.

Hi all! My first post! Nice to see Z0rg is still posting amazing information to skyscrapercity! Thanks for including architect and developer information. On the Chongqing's newest supertall project, anyone have a contact name for MAD? Those buildings are going to need wind engineering services in a big way!

MAD is a Beijing-based architect firm that has also designed the absolute towers near Toronto.

Wuhan is planning a 436m, 112 floor tower.

http://cjmp.cnhan.com/cjrb/html/2009...nt_1767833.htm

I don't know if this project is totally new or a revision of another one we already knew.

If confirmed, it would become the 7th supertall project for Wuhan.

from the skyline pic, #1 is not consistent putting together with other skyscrapers. It's too outstanding and funky.

The good thing of #1 might be in summer you can never get a direct sunshine inside, which is environment friendly.

not only are the floor plates protruding but some are tilted?

if they are actually flat then that building would look much less radical?
