when you see a small city wanted 300m plus skyscraper,then you realized something is wrong.
nanning is not exactly a financial powerhouse like shanghai or beijing, the skyscraper is being built purely for egoism rather than economic reality.
I recall few years ago, SOM spokeman remark that large number of Chinese real estate developer do not understand real estate market.
instead of 300m commercial building,it will much better it built low cost apartment for sale.

Most supertalls around the world do not make economical sense. Once a building reaches a certain height the costs will outweigh the benefits. You could say that most supertalls are ego boosters or symbols in that way. Nanning's size (2.5 million urban area, 6.5 million municipal-- larger than countless other cities with supertalls) have little to do with it.

Unconfirmed. Fortune Center in Wuxi, the tallest tower has 300m they said. Wont add it to the list unless we can find some official source.

Yeah well, whatever sources, i don't think we should care much about the height yet, since its all just pre-designs. Will most likely be another many years or so to we have a final design.
