SHENYANG | Shenyang Eton Center (Proposed): 2x320m+, 70+ floors. This new project will be developed by Eton Holdings and built next to Hang Lung twins in Shenhe district. The architect is NBBJ. Tiny images posted at the developer’s website show one or two supertalls depending on the proposal.

John Portman's proposal: 400m, 300m.

SHENYANG CENTER ETON
Shenyang, China

This premier mixed use project in the Shenhe District of Shenyang encompasses over ten million square feet (1+ million square meters) and includes luxury penthouse apartments, state-of-the-art office space, two hotels, upscale retail and high-end residences. The complex symbolizes the new North of China and is distinguished by its elegant twin towers. The taller twin (1315 feet / 400 meters) contains premier penthouse apartments and a 250-room, six-star hotel with office floors below. The second tower (985 feet / 300 meters) is a single use office tower. Both towers are crowned with public functions and sky garden observation areas. The towers’ roof line is reflected in the sloped top of the 700-room, five-star atrium hotel that anchors the southwest corner of the site.

There's a 330m supertall coming in Kunshan, county level city within the limits of Suzhou with a urban population around 350,000 inhabitants. This project would be located at the Huaqiao International Business City, the CBD of Kunshan.

Kunshan borders on Shanghai municipality, and it is considered a satellite city of Shanghai. It is called "little Taipei" for the large amount of Taiwanese people living there and it ranked as the wealthiest county level city in China.

Another possible supertall in Changsha. I hadn't posted this one before, didn't notice how tall it looks. The main tower has more than 80 floors. The project is called 长沙新河三角洲, something like Changsha New River Delta. I'm not sure, but I think that this is an alternative version for the tacky Century City project I posted some weeks ago, the one with a Burj Dubai replica. This one looks much better!

TIANJIN | Tianjin International Trade Center (On hold) 300m, 80 floors. This tower located at the CBD of Tianjin has been on hold for several years. Construction works have been announced to be resumed for several times, but no progress has been made by the moment.

This project has been resummed at last after so many years!! Maybe they are just finishing the podium/ mall. I'll try to confirm it asap.

TIANJIN | South Station CBD Towers (Concept proposal): 4x300m~, 70~ floors. This project is still very conceptual, four towers around 70 floors are expected to be built.

Another much better image, still rather conceptual I guess.

New proposal for Tianjin Kerry center. I'm not sure, but I think that the plot for this project is the one behind the 4 biggies in the post above, the blurred towers.

These renders were posted by myt at Bohai bbs, no additional info by the moment.

Btw, the final design for the Kerry Center was supposed to be this one, being the tallest tower just above 200m.

WUHAN | Gezhouba International Plaza (Proposed): 300m~, 69 floors There is very little information out about this project by the moment. It is being designed by a local firm.

So this is the final design for Gezhouba International Plaza. Final height much taller than expected!

DALIAN | Dalian Eton Center (Under construction): 376m, 80 floors. This is the highest building of a complex composed by another four skyscrapers, one of 279m and 60 floors and three of 45 floors. The project is being developed by Eton Holdings and designed by NBBJ architects. Thread

HUGE NEWS!!

Official height unveiled, much taller even than expected.

Main tower: 81 floors, 403.9m!!!!!!!!!!!
Second tower: 62 floors and unknown height, but above 300m for sure!!!
The other 3 towers are 42 floors, 178.24m

Details (huge image): http://www.gh.dl.gov.cn/ManagementWe...d%e5%bf%83.jpg

We can guess the height of the second tower anyway. Here are some numbers...

Main tower is 403.9m tall. Excluding the crown, it is 368.8m tall and has 81 floors.

The podium has 5 floors and 42.8m, if we exclude the podium too we have 76 floors and 326m. That is an average of 4.28m per floor.

The main body of the second tower (excluding podium and crown) has 57 floors. We don't know he height, but 57f x 4.28 would be 243m.

243.9m (body) + 43.8m (podium) + 35.1m (crown) = 322.8m. The second tower should be around 320-330m then

The evolution is amazing.

I'm registering two rankings. The first one includes any status excepting vision, etc. The second one excludes proposals as only approved, u/c and built supertalls are counted.

We have 159 supertalls now in the big list, up from 139 in January. So we have added 20 new supertall projects in the first quarter, that's one project a week on the average. By the end of 2008 we might reach 200 supertalls. I had 117 listed in September 2007, and only 88 in May 2007.

Notice that the number of new projects is even larger than it seems as I've been deleting many projects which are rejected or become shorter than 300m. Also, I use to delete projects I haven't read anything about for more than one or two years. In the next update (May 1st~) I'll delete some old projects such as Ningbo 480m twins, Tianjin Eastern New Century Square and some others. So the list wont grow much this month.

About the second rank order, the growth is even more impressive. We have 76 confirmed supertalls now (including built, u/c and approved). We had 67 in January 2008, 55 in September and only 43 in May. We'll probably reach 100 within the end of this year.
